Mike Cotten was victorious in the Super Stock class in his Mopar-powered 1970 Barracuda, on Monday, Feb. 13 in the rained-delayed conclusion of the 52nd Annual NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif.

Cotten used a pass of 10.430-seconds to pick up a first round win over Bob Sherwood of Sioux Falls, S.D. In the second round, Cotten used a run of 10.188-seconds to down Ryan Schloe of Orange, Calif., who ran a 10.535 number.

The third round found Cotten up against Brett Brown of Anaheim Hills, Calif. The native of Broken Arrow, Okla. advanced with a 10.215 mark. He scored a win over Ken Etter of Riverside, Calif. in the fourth round, to set up a matchup with Scott Kelley of Anaheim, Calif. in round five, which Cotten also won. In the semifinals, Cotten downed Peter Biondo of Maspeth N.Y. to move into the final round.

Cotten was matched with Jody Lang of Puyallup Wash. in the final round. The Mopar-powered racer left the line first with a nearly perfect reaction time of 0.001-seconds, coupled with a pass of 10.242-seconds to pick up the win over Lang, who turned in a 10.851-second run.
